Hyaluronic acid containing different molecular sizes allows for varying degrees of effective penetration into the skin. High-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid can only moisturize on the skin's surface, increasing surface moisture. Smaller molecules, however, can penetrate the dermis, increasing moisture content in the deeper layers of the skin. A combination of large, medium, and small hyaluronic acid molecules achieves a comprehensive moisturizing effect.
